"Meals on Wheels"
Meals on Wheels is designed to deliver lunchtime meals from Monday to Friday, to seniors in the region who may not be able to prepare them for themselves. They are delivered through a network of volunteers between 11:30am and 1pm. If you have time to become a volunteer with this worthwhile cause call Tammy at (780) 849-8000
“Senior Lawn Maintenance”
Family and Community Support Services of Slave Lake will be offering our Senior Lawn Maintenance Program for 2010. This program is designed and devoted to seniors in our community. We are looking for energetic volunteers to go out in the community, and provide this service to those seniors who have no other means of yard maintenance. Each volunteer will be given the choice of taking on a property full-time to be on-call. Equipment will be provided at the senior’s home. “Write On” Writers’ Group- Every Wednesday 1:30-3:00pm
“Write On” is a free writers’ group that meets once a week. This group works on letter writing, creative writing, and other writing exercises. If you would like to skill up your writing and take it to the next level, this free group is for you! “Write On” now meets Wednesday’s, from 1:30 to 3:00 pm at the Slave Lake Friendship Centre. “Activities at the Pioneer Drop In Centre”-
Join the Pioneer Drop in Centre for a general meeting the first Thursday of every month beginning at 2pm. The second Thursday of each month there is Cribbage beginning at 7pm.
“Pow Wow Practice Nights”- Every Wednesday 6-7:30pm

“Citizens on Patrol”
Citizens on Patrol are a group of citizens who patrol the street of Slave Lake every night looking for vandalism and have direct communication with the RCMP. They are currently looking for individuals to volunteer one night a month to patrol. Interested citizens are to contact Herbert Ulrich at 780-849-5369.

"Slave Lake Interagency "- last Tuesday of each month at 1pm
Slave Lake’s Interagency Committee, consists of informal monthly meetings where various agencies, community groups and individuals come together to share information on a variety of topics. If you would like to be a part of this networking opportunity come to a meeting. They are held the last Tuesday of each month at 1pm in the Town Council Chambers.
"Book & Dine"-second Tuesday of each month
The Library’s book club has had a bit of a makeover. They meet on the second Tuesday of each month, but we meet at the Library at 7:30pm.
"Documentary Discussion" - third Thursday of each month at 7pm
This program is based on watching a documentary film and then spending time discussing the issues behind the movie. All the movies will be controversial, current, and in-the-news. We learn best by knowing all sides of the story, so be prepared for some heavy discussion during this program. Documentary Discussion will be on the third Thursday of each month at 7pm at Slave Lake’s Library.
“Slave Lake Farmers Market” – every Friday 11-3
The Slave Lake Farmers Market is now an Official Alberta Farmers Market complete with vendors that are selling fresh veggies, fresh fruit, fresh baked goods, arts & crafts, handmade clothing, hand crafted wood furniture, outdoor fire pits, Locally grown lamb, beef jerky & smokies, eggs, plants and tons more. Stop by the Lesser Slave Lake Regional Toursim building, Friday’s from 11-3. To enjoy all kinds of great local vendors! Every week there will also be a delicious BBQ on the go so you can shop and eat your lunch, all at the same place.
“Fundraiser to Assist the Flooding Victims of Pakistan”
The Isrielic society in Slave Lake has donation boxes set up at the Fas Gas and the Schell station in town and at KAN'S General Store in Red Earth. The donation boxes are set up to assist Victims of the flooding which recently took place in Pakistan.

Dancin’ Kids is a creative and dynamic studio dedicated to excellence. The studio is having registration Monday, September 6 from 5 - 8 pm at the new location the main floor #206 201 2nd Street Northeast.
